Where is Echuca Moama?

Located on the banks of the Murray River, the twin towns of Echuca Moama are the closest point on the Murray to Melbourne – just a two and a half hour drive north.

How can I get to Echuca Moama on public transport?

Echuca Moama is serviced by V-Line Train and Bus Services. Travel to Echuca Moama from Melbourne, Bendigo, Shepparton, Albury, Mildura and many more destinations via VLine.

VLine Train and Bus Services arrive and depart in Echuca at the Echuca Railway Station in Sturt Street, While VLine Bus Services arrive and depart in Moama at the rear of the former council offices (adjacent to Kerrabee Soundshell) in Blair Street.  A ticket office is located at Echuca Railway Station or visit https://www.vline.com.au/

Echuca Moama is also serviced by NSW Trainlink Bus Services. Travel to Albury or Wagga Wagga with connections available to Sydney and Canberra.

NSW Trainlink Bus Services arrive and depart in Echuca at the former Visitor Information Centre (Historic Pump House building) and in Moama at the rear of the former council offices (adjacent to Kerrabee Soundshell) in Blair Street. Please be aware that tickets for NSW Trainlink Services are not available for purchase in either of these locations – bookings are available online at transportnsw.info/regional

Yes, the Murray River is a great option for fishing. The Murray River waters are classified as NSW for the purposes of legislation, so you will need to follow the rules with regards to NSW fishing licences. Alternatively, the Campaspe River and Goulburn River are both also great options for fishing. The Campaspe and Goulburn Rivers are Victorian, so you will need to follow the rules with regards to Victorian fishing licences.
