We invite you to a have a memorable holiday on the mighty Murray River.
Echuca Moama . . .
The Murray's living legend
Located on the banks of the mighty Murray River, the twin towns of Echuca Moama are the closest point of the Murray to Melbourne - just a 2.5 hour drive.
Echuca Moama represents not only a bygone era with horse-drawn carriages and woodturners but it also showcases all the conveniences of the modern era. The historic Port Precinct is recognised as one of Australia's finest heritage icons and is home to the largest riverboat fleet in the world - Australia's Paddlesteamer Capital.
The iconic wharf has been recently meticulously restored. Enhanced by new red gum walkways along the riverbank, there are many opportunities to view the Murray River and all its activity, and the brand new Port of Echuca Discovery Centre (opened 14 December 2013) is a great way to get up close to Echuca Moama's unique history.
The calendar of events and festivals in Echuca Moama is the envy of most of the regional destinations in the country.
To name a couple, Echuca Moama hosts the Winter Blues festival (25, 26 & 27 July 2014), the world's biggest water ski event being the Club Marine Southern 80 (6, 7 & 8 Feb 2015) and the highly successful Riverboats Music Festival (13, 14 & 15 Feb 2015) - the largest of its type on the Murray celebrating home grown talents Australian artists.
